An illegal firecracker factory blast in West Bengal's Birbhum district killed five people and injured several others on Sunday. The blast occurred in the Garbeta area around 11:30 pm. The factory was located in a densely populated area, and the explosion caused widespread damage to several houses.

The five people who were killed were all workers at the factory. They were identified as Sheikh Ismail, Sheikh Rafiqul, Sheikh Abdul Jabbar, Sheikh Abdul Mannan, and Sheikh Abdul Gani. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital and are currently in stable condition.

The police are conducting an investigation into the incident. They suspect that the blast was caused by a fire that broke out in the factory. This is not the first time that an illegal firecracker factory has caused a blast in West Bengal. In 2021, a blast at an illegal firecracker factory in the Hooghly district killed 29 people.

The government has repeatedly warned people against setting up illegal firecracker factories. However, such factories continue to operate in the state. The latest blast is a reminder of the dangers posed by illegal firecracker factories. The government needs to take stricter measures to prevent such incidents from happening.
