ASIA CUP 2022: INDIA BEAT BANGLADESH BY 59 RUNS TO ENTER THE SEMIS

On Saturday, India defeated Bangladesh by a score of 59 runs in a Women's Asia Cup match played here.

 The Smriti Mandhana-led Team India recovered from its heart-breaking loss to Pakistan by defeating Bangladesh in the 2022 Women's Asia Cup at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. 

Smriti Mandhana shone with the bat as India Women thrashed Bangladesh Women by 59 runs in Sylhet on Saturday. Shefali Verma put up an all-around performance. In place of Harmanpreet Kaur, Team India's opener Mandhana served as captain. Shafali Verma's quick-fire 55 (44) and Mandhana's 47 off 38 balls created the groundwork for a difficult total. 

Team India, without Harmanpreet, reached 159-5 in 20 overs thanks to Jemima Rodrigues' vital cameo of 35* off 24 balls. Bangladesh only managed to score 100-7 when attempting to reach the 160-run goal, and India defeated the hosts by a margin of 59 runs in game 15 of the Asia Cup 2022. In India's resounding victory over Bangladesh, Deepti Sharma and Shafali both took four wickets. 

With the decisive victory against the hosts, India is guaranteed a place in the Asia Cup 2022 semi-finals.
