FORMER INDIAN CAPTAIN MS DHONI AND VIRAT KOHLI FOUND GUILTY OF VIOLATING RULES OF ADVERTISING STANDARDS

According to the recent reports by Advertising Standard Council of India there is a recent increase in rates of complaints against celebrities who had been found unsuccessful in showing conscientious in their endorsements.

    Among the names of the celebrities in the list released by the regulatory body, MS Dhoni tops the list followed by renowned youtuber Bhuvan Bham.Dhoni tops the list of non-compliant celebrities for the advertiser, Tictok Skill Games Private Limited, in the gaming category. He has violated the rule 10 times, while Kohli has violated the rule, working under the advertiser, Galactus Funware Technology Private Limited, five times.

    According to ASCI, several categories of advertisements have witnessed rampant violations and the presence of controversial content. Gaming, healthcare, personal care, and classical education have been identified as the sectors with the highest number of infractions. Out of the total 8,951 complaints received by ASCI, more than half were associated with these aforementioned categories. The surge in complaints reflects growing concerns among consumers about the authenticity and truthfulness of claims made by celebrities in advertisements.
