Indian Cricket Fraternity bids adieu to Women's pace legend Jhulan Goswami

After her third and final ODI and international match against England, the Indian cricket fraternity took over social media on Saturday to say goodbye to the celebrated women's pace legend in India, Jhulan Goswami.


Twitter witnessed many administration figures, cricketers along with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Women to congratulate her on her inspiring career. President of BCCI, Sourav Ganguly tweeted that her career has been fantastic, is ending on a winning note, and that she will remain a role model to women cricketers for upcoming decades. Secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah also extended gratitude to the bowler for serving Indian cricket for twenty years and inspiring next generation of players with her determination and dedication. 


Other big names who joined are former Indian batter Mithali Raj, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Indian opener KL Rahul, spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, former batter VVS Laxman, former opener Wasim Jaffer, former middle-order batter Suresh Raina, and many more.


Jhulan Goswami has finished her cricketing career with 56 wickets in 68 T20Is, 255 wickets in 204 ODIs and 44 wickets in 12 Tests. She had a winning farewell as Indian women's team made an all-round effort and bundled out the host for 153 and won the game by 16 runs.


Goswami has been the most successful bowler in ODIs and international cricket in women's cricket in India. She has also scored 1924 runs as a batter with three half centuries.
