Mumbai creates history in first-class cricket, beats Uttarakhand by 725 runs

Mumbai broke the record the previous record of winning a first a match by 685 runs set by New South Wales against Queensland in 1930

On Thursday, team Mumbai created history after bagging a thumping victory in first-class cricket, after defeating Team Uttarakhand by 725 runs. Mumbai emerged victorious in the second quarter-final match of the ongoing Ranji Trophy, played at the KSCA Cricket Ground, Alur.


Mumbai broke the record the previous record of winning a first a match by 685 runs set by New South Wales against Queensland in 1930.


The Players who shined in the match included Suved Parkar and Sarfaraz Khan who scored 252 and 153 runs respectively and helped their team to set a handsome target of 648 runs.


Uttarakhand, in return, could score only 114 runs, before getting bowled out.


Mumbai’s bowler Shams Mulani took five wickets while Dhawal Kulkarni, Tushar Deshpande, and Tanush Kotian took one wicket each.


In the third innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 103 runs while Prithvi Shaw added 72 runs to the team’s total. Mumbai scored 261/3 and Uttarakhand coming to bat, got bundled out at 69, and gave Mumbai a 725-run victory.
