In the Super12s of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe with a score of 150/7 thanks to Najmul Hossain Shanto's blistering 71 runs.

Najmul Hossain Shanto led the Bangladeshi team in scoring with 71 off 55, and Afif Hossain contributed with a knock of 29 runs off 19.

Bangladesh chose to bat first, but their innings got off to a poor start as their opener Soumya Sarkar was dismissed in the second over. The Bangladeshi starter left without bothering the scorers and returned to the pavilion. Then Litton Das entered the crease to begin batting. Das, the team's opener, and Najmul Hossain Shanto drew singles at regular intervals in an effort to give their side some momentum.

After hitting 14 runs off of 12 deliveries, Bangladeshi batter Blessing Muzarabani was dismissed with a magnificent ball, ending Das' time at the wicket.

Shakib Al Hasan, the skipper of Bangladesh, and the left-handed batsman then entered the crease to begin batting. Bangladesh's score after the powerplay was at 32/2. Following Shakib's dismissal in the game's 13th over following a knock of 23 runs in 20 deliveries, Sean Williams gave his team a significant victory.

Najmul Hossain Shanto struggled at the beginning of the innings but finished it in 45 balls. Bangladesh's hitters pushed their total above 100 runs in the game's fifteenth over.

Shanto opened his hands and began smashing Zimbabwean bowlers everywhere on the ground while regularly collecting singles. But Shanto's blazing inning of 71 runs off 55 deliveries was cut short when he gave an easy catch to Craig Ervine on a Sikandar Raza pitch.

Then Mosaddek Hossain came to the bat. Afif Hossain and Mosaddek Hossain, two hitters from Bangladesh, attempted to lead a critical partnership. Mosaddek Hossain, Nurul Hasan, who was run out by Williams and Chakabva, and Afif Hossain were all bowled by Richard Ngarava in the penultimate over of the innings, dealing a triple blow to Bangladesh and limiting them to a score of 150/7.

Brief Score: Bangladesh 150/7 (Najmul Hossain Shanto 71, Afif Hossain 29; Blessing Muzarabani 2-13) vs Zimbabwe.
