ASI INITIATES SURVEY OF GYANVAPI MOSQUE COMPLEX WITH TIGHT SECURITY MEASURES...

On Thursday, the 3rd of August Allahabad high court allowed ASI to conduct the survey.

ASI stands for The Archeological Survey of India. As per Allahabad High Court orders on Thursday and the Supreme Court's allowance on Friday,  ASI have resumed its scientific survey of Gyanvapi Mosque premises to check if the mosque in the 17th century was constructed over the existing structure of the Hindu temple there.


The survey which began at 7am went on till 12pm. Under tight security measures, the ASI team members, along with the representatives of the Hindu petitioners engaged in a legal dispute concerning the mosque, were present within the complex during the survey.


As The members of AIM committee have boycotted the survey. The representatives of the committee who were to accompany the ASI team for the survey abstained from doing so.


The ASI team reached the Gyanvapi mosque premises adjacent to Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi and according to reports there are 41 officials present inside the complex.
