Kerala model of seating does away with Backbencher concept

Backbenchers in our society have been stereotyped as not being good in studies. However, a revolutionary classroom seating order inspired by the movie Sthanarthi Sreekuttan is changing this narrative. Several schools across Kerala are adopting a semi-circular seating arrangement, moving away from traditional rows. 

This innovative approach is gaining traction on social media, with many applauding the shift. 

As this trend continues to spread, it's hoped that schools nationwide will adopt this inclusive seating arrangement, breaking the stigma associated with being a "backbencher" and fostering a more collaborative learning environment. 

By doing so, every student will have an equal opportunity to participate and excel, regardless of their seating position. 

This change can bring about a significant positive impact on the education system.

Vinesh Viswanath, who made his directorial debut with the Malayalam film based on an upper primary school in Thiruvananthapuram, said, “At least six schools have already introduced it and we came to know of it when they tagged our Instagram handle,” The Hindu reported. The narrative
