Suicide Blast Hits School Bus in Balochistan

A suicide attack has taken place in Balochistan. A car rammed into a school bus. A massive explosion immediately followed. At least three children were killed in the incident. Two more people on the bus are reported to have died. The number of injured is around 40. It is being reported that a suicide attack was carried out on an army school bus.


No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. However, Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack. (Balochistan News)


The incident took place in Khuzdar district of Balochistan on Wednesday morning. According to local media sources, the bus carrying students was leaving for school. At that time, a suicide bomber drove his car at high speed and rammed the bus. It is believed that the bomber had a bomb strapped to his body or car. Because a strong explosion occurred as soon as the car hit the bus. (Pakistan News)


In the pictures and videos that have come to light from the scene, the bus was seen lying completely in pieces on one side of the road. Pieces were also seen scattered on the road. The students' bags were also seen lying in a half-burnt state. Local Deputy Commissioner Yasir Iqbal said that the bus was carrying school students.


 Pakistan's Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement, "Another cowardly attack. An attack targeting innocent school children. So far, three children and two adults have been reported dead. Many have been injured." The ISPR also alleged that terrorism is being spread in Balochistan. They have even targeted India in this incident.


The country's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said, "Those who attack innocent children are unforgivable. The attackers have shown extreme brutality. There is a deep conspiracy behind this attack on the school bus. The enemy is planning to create unrest in the country."


According to Pakistani media sources, the injured have been taken to Khuzdar CMH. Those who are in critical condition may be shifted to Quetta and Karachi. Police and Frontier Corps have reached the blast site. Work is underway to collect evidence from there. Initial investigations suggest that the investigators suspect a suicide attack.


 The situation in Balochistan has been tense for several days. On the one hand, separatists have declared independence, on the other hand, armed groups are resorting to extremism one after another. In addition to attacks on army convoys, there have also been incidents of entire train hijackings in the last few months.
