Mohali (Punjab), April 15, 2025:
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers held a protest in Mohali on Monday against Punjab Leader of Opposition and Congress MLA Partap Singh Bajwa, after his statement that “50 bombs have reached Punjab.”
An AAP worker said, “Congress is holding a protest today, saying that the AAP government is taking revenge. But Congress knows that their leader Partap Singh Bajwa said on a TV channel that 50 bombs came to Punjab, 18 were used, and 32 are still there. When Punjab Police asked him for details, he didn’t share anything. An FIR was filed against him. Today, Congress is trying to protect him. That’s why we are protesting.”
AAP said that Congress is supporting Bajwa instead of standing with the people. “Congress must tell if they support the public or the terrorists. Bajwa should explain or say sorry, or else legal action will be taken,” the protester added.
Meanwhile, Punjab Congress said the FIR is a result of political revenge and they will take the matter to court. Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said, “It looks like the Chief Minister wants to decide when and how to send Bajwa to jail or file a case against him. The way the FIR was quickly filed shows that it’s an act of revenge.”
Bajwa is facing backlash for saying that 50 bombs have reached Punjab — 18 already exploded and 32 are left.
He defended his statement, saying that someone told him about the danger and warned him to be careful. “I said in a TV interview that my source told me about the bombs and warned me because I hold an important post and my family had faced terrorism earlier,” Bajwa said.
