With a clear reiteration behind this, Modi stated that developing the agriculture sector and ensuring rural prosperity are the twin objectives of the central government. He said it is very important for the country to enable agriculture development and help farmers economically.
"The backbone of the economy is our farmers. National development will not be real, without empowering farmers. The government envisions infrastructural transformation of agriculture by modern farming, adoption of advanced technology, and the help of finance," said PM Modi.
He also described several government initiatives aimed at increasing the rural economy by facilitating farmers with access to credit, improving irrigation facilities, providing insurance against crop failure, and expansion into digital agriculture technologies.
The Prime Minister feels that focusing on agriculture and rural development will help uplift farmers' living standards, create opportunities for employment, and also create a self-reliant India. He was confident that these schemes would open a new chapter in agricultural revolution and rural prosperity across the country.
