As anticipation builds for Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic Ramayana, a fresh wave of excitement has taken over social media, this time powered by artificial intelligence. A digital creator has shared a series of AI-generated images that reimagine the cult anime Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama in live-action form, featuring the star cast of Tiwari’s much-awaited film.
The images, posted on Instagram by a creator known as Digital Dreamer, recreate some of the most iconic moments from the 1993 animated classic. Ranbir Kapoor is seen as Lord Rama in striking visuals, standing poised with his bow, charging into battle with a sword, and breaking Lord Shiva’s Pinaka to win Sita’s hand. Sai Pallavi appears as a serene Sita, while Yash’s Ravana is shown abducting her and flying towards Lanka. Sunny Deol’s portrayal of Lord Hanuman, leaping across the ocean mid-flight, has particularly caught fans’ attention.
Social media reactions were swift and enthusiastic. Many users praised the casting choices, with comments calling the visuals “perfect” and admiring how convincingly the actors fit their mythological roles. One user even remarked that Ravana looked more impressive than Rama in these AI frames, highlighting the dramatic impact of the imagery.
The anime Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama, co-produced by India and Japan and released in 1993, remains one of the most beloved adaptations of the Indian epic. Directed by Yugo Sako, Koichi Sasaki and Ram Mohan, the film enjoys a stellar IMDb rating of 9.2 and is often hailed for its emotional depth and artistic brilliance.
Meanwhile, Tiwari’s Ramayana is shaping up to be one of the biggest Indian films ever made. Backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and mounted on a reported budget of ₹4,000 crore, the two-part saga will release its first instalment on Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027. Until then, these AI visuals are giving fans a tantalising glimpse of what might lie ahead.
