Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has assured support to the studies of 8-year-old Ananya Yadav from Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Ananya had become an overnight sensation as a video clip went viral where she stood up for her books bravely when a demolition drive was carried out outside her residence in March 2025. The drive was carried out by the Uttar Pradesh government as a part of an eviction drive, alleging that residential complexes have come up on encroached land.
Yadav put down the Yogi Adityanath government, calling those who ruin the future of children "homeless" and education as a right.
Once more, he pointed out that bulldozers represent force of destruction and not wisdom or intelligence. Ananya's resolve to save her books has encouraged many and she wants to be an IAS officer someday.
The Supreme Court has also witnessed the demolition drives in Uttar Pradesh, challenging their legality and seeking answers from authorities.
Ananya's family resides in difficult conditions with her father employed as a laborer and her mother as a homemaker. Despite all this, Ananya's determination to pursue education has touched hearts all over India.
