Akshay Kumar announced the date of release of his highly anticipated movie, Kesari Chapter 2, on April 18, 2025, globally.
The sequel followed the 2019 hit movie Kesari, where the heroic story of 21 Sikh fighters in a battle with thousands of Afghan tribesmen was portrayed at Saragarhi in 1897.
Kesar Chapter 2 will trace another pivotal chapter in Indian history—the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919. The movie will also show the gallant fight of barrister C. Sankaran Nair, who battled to reveal the truth behind the massacre.
The movie is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and adapted from the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
Akshay Kumar posted a motion poster with a blood-splattered brick wall and bullet holes, and the caption, "A revolution painted in courage." He captioned it, "Some wars are not fought with weapons," and also posted the teaser release date as March 24, which added to the hype.
The lead roles are ably played by R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday, lending star value to this period drama.
India's fans just cannot wait for this on-screen tribute to the strength and courage of India.
