Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday asserted that the terrorist network in Jammu and Kashmir has been almost eliminated due to the determined efforts of security agencies. Speaking at a high-level security review meeting in New Delhi, Shah reaffirmed the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to achieving a terrorism-free Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah assured that all necessary resources would continue to be provided to sustain security operations and emphasized that security forces have full freedom of action to counter any attempts to threaten peace and stability in the region. He praised the prompt and coordinated efforts of the Union Territory administration and security agencies following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, which strengthened the overall security apparatus in the region.

The Home Minister directed all security personnel to maintain heightened vigilance and close coordination, especially with the onset of winter, warning that terrorists might attempt to exploit snowfall to infiltrate across the border. The review was attended by key officials, including Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau, Chief of Army Staff, and heads of various Central Armed Police Forces.

Shah highlighted that the government will continue its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and encouraged security agencies to remain united in eradicating the terror ecosystem from Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed the importance of preparedness to prevent any security breaches during the snowbound months ahead.

This high-level meeting reflects the government’s proactive stance and commitment to ensuring lasting peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir.
