A light-hearted moment between Virat Kohli and pacer Arshdeep Singh became the highlight of India’s thumping nine-wicket win over South Africa in the 3rd ODI at Visakhapatnam. After India sealed the series 2–1 on Saturday, the Punjab Kings’ social media team shared a hilarious video featuring the two stars and fans can’t stop watching it.
In the video, Arshdeep jokingly tells Kohli, “Paaji, run kam reh gaye, century aaj pakki thi waise.” His friendly jab referred to the fact that Kohli, who had scored centuries in both previous matches, looked well on track for a third straight ton before the modest 271-run target was chased down early. Kohli’s cheeky reply stole the show: “Toss jeet gaye, nahi toh teri bhi pakki thi dew mein.”
The exchange captured the team’s buoyant mood after a dominant all-round performance. South Africa, put in to bat under conditions expected to worsen with dew, were restricted to 270. Quinton de Kock led the fight with a brilliant 106, while Temba Bavuma contributed 48. But India’s bowlers Prasidh Krishna (4/66) and Kuldeep Yadav (4/41) dismantled the Proteas just when they threatened to push ahead.
During India’s chase, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered the visitors with a 155-run opening stand. Jaiswal registered his maiden ODI hundred, staying unbeaten on 116. Kohli (65* off 45) finished the job in style, ensuring India wrapped up the match with more than 10 overs to spare.
Beyond the statistics, it was the viral post-match clip that captured fans’ attention showcasing camaraderie, humour, and the relaxed confidence within the Indian dressing room. With the T20I series starting December 9 in Cuttack, the team appears high on both form and spirit.
