The cricket match at Dharamshala Stadium was suddenly stopped after a high alert was issued following a reported Pakistani drone attack. Right after the alert, the stadium lights were turned off as part of emergency security measures.
Players were quickly taken off the field and security forces rushed to secure the area. The crowd was left in shock and confusion as sirens were heard and announcements were made asking everyone to stay calm.
Sources say the blackout was done to avoid making the stadium an easy target. The decision came shortly after multiple Pakistani drones were seen in Indian airspace near Jammu, and some were shot down by Indian forces. Explosions were also heard in the region.
The authorities have not confirmed any threat directly to the stadium, but the stoppage is being treated very seriously. All fans inside the stadium are safe, and security checks are being done all around the area.
