Lucknow: A case has been registered against a group of unidentified individuals following an attack on a local journalist near Lucknow on Thursday, 13 November 2025. Mukesh Dwivedi, a journalist from Mohanlalganj, lodged a complaint with the Lucknow Police, accusing the assailants of attempting to run him off the road and subsequently threatening him.

In his statement, Dwivedi revealed that he and his colleague, Himanshu Rawat, were travelling in an SUV after collecting it from a service centre around 5:40 pm when they were pursued by two SUVs and another car. The vehicles reportedly attempted to collide with Dwivedi’s vehicle.

Dwivedi managed to drive into his plot, where he called for help. However, the three vehicles followed him, and their occupants allegedly began hurling abuses and issuing threats to kill him. The police have filed a case based on Dwivedi’s complaint, though the assailants remain unidentified.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of journalists in the region. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the attackers and ascertain the motives behind the assault.
