Renowned celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib finds himself at the center of a significant legal controversy as authorities in Sambhal district have registered 32 cases against him, his son Anos Habib, and an associate named Saiful for allegedly orchestrating a fraudulent Bitcoin investment scheme.
According to Sambhal police, the trio is accused of collecting substantial sums from numerous investors through a company called Follicle Global Company (FLC). The scheme reportedly promised exceptionally high returns through Bitcoin investments, with claims that investors could see returns of up to ten times their initial investment.
Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Vishnoi revealed that each investor was asked to contribute between five to seven lakh rupees. However, despite the passage of two and a half years since the investments were made, none of the participants have received their promised returns or recovered their principal amounts.
Preliminary investigations suggest the financial fraud amounts to approximately five to seven crore rupees. The scale of the operation and the number of affected investors has prompted authorities to register multiple cases across the district.
Following a thorough investigation, police have issued notices to all three accused individuals, requiring them to appear for questioning. A lookout notice has also been issued against the Habib family to prevent them from leaving the country during the ongoing investigation.
Govind Kumar, the in-charge of Raia Satti police station, confirmed that while Habib's legal representative met with officials on Sunday, the police have made it clear that the hairstylist must personally record his statement. The authorities are insisting on direct interaction with the accused as part of their investigation protocol.
Pawan Kumar, representing Jawed Habib, met with local police officials over the weekend to submit documentation regarding his client's current circumstances. The lawyer informed authorities that Habib recently suffered the loss of his father and is currently dealing with heart-related health issues, which have prevented him from appearing before police in person.
Despite these challenges, Kumar emphasized that his client maintains complete faith in the judicial system and the Constitution of India. He assured investigators that Habib and his family are willing to cooperate fully with the investigation at every stage of the legal process.
The defense counsel stated that they trust the police will conduct a fair investigation and not act unjustly. Kumar stressed that while the allegations are serious, they remain under investigation, and his client is prepared to provide all necessary cooperation to establish the truth.
The case has drawn significant attention given Jawed Habib's celebrity status in the beauty and fashion industry. Known for his chain of salons across the country, the hairstylist has built a prominent brand over the years. However, these allegations have cast a shadow over his professional reputation.
As the investigation progresses, authorities continue to gather evidence and statements from affected investors. The police are working to determine the exact flow of funds and whether the promised Bitcoin investments were actually made or if the scheme was purely fraudulent from its inception.
The coming weeks will be crucial as investigators piece together the details of the alleged fraud and determine the next steps in the legal proceedings against the accused.
