A Naxalite woman was martyred in an encounter with security officials in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district on March 31, 2025. A gunfight occurred at around 9 AM near the border of Bijapur-Dantewada districts when security forces launched an anti-Naxal operations
The lifeless body of the woman and one INSAS rifle were found at the site where she was killed by Dantewada SP Gaurav Rai.
Operation is ongoing, and reports are pending as security forces fight to eliminate Naxalite hotbeds in the area.
This incident follows a recent spurt in confrontations between security personnel and Naxalites in Chhattisgarh, in which massive operations have already killed some Naxal cadres.
The state government has intensified its anti-Naxal operations with the aim of eradicating the Naxal threat by 2026 as part of a broader strategy for ushering peace and security into the region once again.
