Mumbai: Stand-up comedian Mohammed Hussain, known online as @OfficiallySane, has opened up about his hair transplant experience, offering fans a detailed look at the procedure, recovery, and results one year later.
Hussain revealed that he opted for the transplant after noticing thinning hair on the sides and a sparse patch in the middle. “My brother got a transplant, so I thought I could do it too,” he said. The surgery, lasting about eight hours, involved local anesthesia, careful post-operative care, and strict restrictions on touching or washing the hair in the initial weeks.
He described the early stages as challenging and anxiety-inducing, especially when transplanted hair fell out temporarily—a normal part of the recovery process. Gradually, over the weeks, he was able to resume normal activities, including washing and going to the gym, while closely monitoring growth.
Hussain estimated the total cost of the procedure at around ₹1 lakh. He emphasized that transplanted hair is resistant to hormone-driven hair fall, though his original hair continues to thin, requiring ongoing care. “The goal now is to maintain my hair and avoid another transplant in the near future,” he said.
Sharing candid insights on the timeline, appearance, and care routines, Hussain reassured fans that the process is manageable and pain is minimal. He recommended choosing a reputable clinic with hygiene and experienced doctors, suggesting that getting the procedure done locally in India is often best.
Fans flooded his social media with questions about the transplant’s effectiveness and longevity. Hussain’s transparency offered a rare, practical perspective on the journey many hesitate to discuss, blending honesty with light-hearted reflections on living with hair loss.
This account highlights the growing interest in cosmetic procedures among Indian youth, while also stressing the importance of informed decision-making and realistic expectations.
