On International Women’s Day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will launch the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, a scheme offering ₹2,500 per month to women from low-income families. This scheme was promised by the BJP during the Delhi assembly elections.

The scheme will be announced during the Mahila Diwas event at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. It is open to women between 18 and 60 years old who live in Delhi, have a family income of less than ₹3 lakh per year, and do not pay taxes. Women who are government employees or already receiving other government financial aid will not be eligible.

How to Apply for the Scheme

The Delhi government is creating an online portal for registration. The portal will verify eligibility using a special software developed by the IT department. It will check whether applicants are paying taxes, receiving other benefits like pensions, or if they are a duplicate entry.

Documents Needed for Registration

Though the full list of documents is not yet available, women applying for the scheme should have the following:

- Aadhaar card

- Ration card

- Address proof

- Registered mobile number

The registration forms will be linked to Aadhaar numbers and will ask for details like the applicant’s name, address, bank account, and family information.

Launch Delayed, Now Set for Today

The launch of the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana was delayed after a cabinet meeting was postponed. Today, the cabinet will finalize the rules for the scheme, and the announcement will be made during the Women’s Day event. Senior BJP leaders, including Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, Vanitha Srinivas, and Bansuri Swaraj, will also be present.

The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is seen as a way to help women in Delhi by providing them with financial support.
