Kanpur: A luxury Lamborghini crash in Kanpur’s upscale Gwaltoli area left six people injured on Sunday afternoon. Around 3:15 pm, the 10-crore Lamborghini Revuelto, allegedly driven by Shivam Mishra the son of tobacco businessman KK Mishra sped out of control near Rev-3 Mall, striking pedestrians and vehicles before colliding with an electric pole.
Eyewitnesses reported that Mishra appeared drunk and drove recklessly. The car first hit an auto-rickshaw, then a parked Royal Enfield motorcycle, which flung the rider nearly 10 feet in the air. Instead of stopping, Mishra allegedly tried to flee, while private bouncers accompanying him attempted to shield him from the crowd. Locals intervened, smashing the Lamborghini’s windows and pulling him out. Police arrived to manage the scene, and both Mishra and the injured were taken to a private hospital. The vehicle has been seized, and an FIR is being registered.
Shivam Mishra first made headlines in 2024 during multi-state Income Tax raids on his family’s company, Banshidhar Tobacco Private Limited. Investigators alleged discrepancies between declared income of Rs 20–25 crore and an estimated turnover of Rs 100–150 crore. Subsequent searches at Mishra’s Delhi residence revealed a fleet of luxury cars including a Rolls-Royce Phantom, McLaren, Porsche, and multiple Lamborghinis valued at around Rs 50 crore. Cash worth Rs 11.5 crore, along with jewellery and expensive watches, were also seized.
The incident highlights concerns over reckless driving and the extravagant lifestyle of wealthy heirs, with police investigating possible alcohol involvement and other legal violations.
