FIR Filed Against 10 TISS Students for Event Honouring G N Saibaba

MUMBAI: Police have registered a case against 10 students of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) for allegedly organising an event on campus to mark the death anniversary of former Delhi University professor G N Saibaba, officials said on Tuesday.

According to the police, the event, held on Sunday, also saw the participants raise slogans in support of former Jawaharlal Nehru University students Sharjeel Imam and Umar Khalid, who are currently in jail in connection with a Delhi riots case.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and the FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, a police official added. The development has drawn attention amid ongoing debates over campus activities and freedom of expression in educational institutions.
