On Sunday morning, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7
occurred in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, according to an official.
The Meteorological Department reports that the earthquake
occurred at 08:42. The epicenter was located seven kilometers below the surface
at latitude 31.48 and longitude 76.95.
Fortunately, no property damage or fatalities have been
reported as a result of the tremors. The impacted region, especially
Sundernagar, is classified as having a high seismic risk and is included in
Schedule 4. The distance between the region and the state capital is roughly
150 kilometers.
Similar earthquakes have previously occurred in the Mandi
district, which is known for being vulnerable to seismic activity. As a result,
efforts are being made to improve disaster preparedness in the area.
