Sharren Haskel has said that India can play a crucial role in ensuring stability and peace in the Middle East, highlighting the growing strategic partnership between India, Israel and the United States.
Speaking in an interview, the Israeli minister said India is among the countries working toward global stability and prosperity. She noted that India’s rising influence in international diplomacy and security makes it an important partner in addressing conflicts and promoting peace in the Middle East.
According to Haskel, cooperation between India, Israel and the United States could help strengthen regional security and encourage economic growth. She emphasised that India’s participation in strategic initiatives and military cooperation contributes significantly to stability in the region.
The Israeli leader also spoke about tensions involving Iran, accusing Tehran of breaking previous agreements and misleading the international community. She claimed that Israel had pursued diplomatic engagement from the beginning but expressed doubts about Iran’s willingness to commit to lasting peace.
Referring to ongoing diplomatic efforts, Haskel said negotiations supported by Donald Trump could potentially lead to progress. However, she remained sceptical about the outcome, suggesting that Iran might be attempting to delay meaningful commitments during talks.
The minister also criticised Iran’s internal actions, referring to protests in the country and the alleged use of force against demonstrators. She said such incidents raised serious concerns about the Iranian government’s approach toward dissent and governance.
Meanwhile, diplomatic engagement between India and Israel has continued to deepen. During a recent visit, Narendra Modi received a warm welcome from Benjamin Netanyahu and members of the Indian community in Israel.
The Indian Prime Minister also addressed the Knesset, receiving a standing ovation from lawmakers. His visit underscored the strengthening ties between the two countries across sectors such as defence, technology, trade and security cooperation.
Observers say that India’s growing diplomatic engagement in global affairs has positioned it as an influential player capable of contributing to peace efforts in multiple regions. As geopolitical tensions continue to shape international relations, India’s partnerships with countries like Israel and the United States are expected to play a key role in shaping the future balance of power and stability in the Middle East.
