Vladimir Putin the Russian President and one of the powerful leaders of world arrived in India on 4 December, 2025.
On his arrival, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received him at Palam airport with a hug before both of them left in the Prime Minister's car. PM Modi hosted him for a private dinner at his official residence, in a reciprocal gesture to the hospitality extended by the Russian leader during the PM's visit to Moscow in July last year. The dinner lasted around three hours and ended after 10 pm.

At 11.30 pm, the Prime Minister posted a photo of him presenting a copy of the Bhagavad Gita in Russian to Putin, writing, "The teachings of the Gita give inspiration to millions across the world."
