Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the convocation ceremony of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. While addressing the students, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for compassionate and responsible leadership in India and globally. He highlighted the importance of ethical leadership in shaping a better future.
Abdullah said in his speech that true leadership goes beyond positions of power. "The world needs leaders who lead with integrity, compassion and a strong sense of responsibility," he added.

The Chief Minister felt that the world today is facing various challenges including economic instability, social inequality and environmental concerns. He said that to overcome these challenges, leaders must be committed to making fair and just decisions for the greater good.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar presided over the event. He awarded meritorious students of the institution.
Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife Sudesh Dhankhar planted saplings in the premises of Sri Mata Vaishno Devi University in memory of their late mothers Kesari Devi and Bhagwati Devi.
Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha was also present on the occasion.
