India, world need compassionate, responsible leaders: CM Omar Abdullah at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University convocation

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the convocation ceremony of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.  While addressing the students, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for compassionate and responsible leadership in India and globally.   He highlighted the importance of ethical leadership in shaping a better future.

Abdullah said in his speech that true leadership goes beyond positions of power.  "The world needs leaders who lead with integrity, compassion and a strong sense of responsibility," he added.

He urged the young graduates to contribute positively to the society and uphold the values ​​of integrity and service in their careers.

The Chief Minister felt that the world today is facing various challenges including economic instability, social inequality and environmental concerns.   He said that to overcome these challenges, leaders must be committed to making fair and just decisions for the greater good. 

Leadership is not just about personal success but about the impact you make in people's lives,".

Encouraging students to take leadership in their own capacity, Abdullah emphasized that responsible leadership is needed in every field, be it business, education, healthcare or technology.   He called upon the youth to assume leadership roles with devotion and sense of duty.

The convocation ceremony is attended by university officials, faculty, students and dignitaries, which is an important milestone for the graduating class. 

It is believed that the Chief Minister's words will serve as an inspiration to the students as they embark on their professional journey.  Which reinforces the need for ethical and compassionate leadership in shaping the nation's future.

He points out that a degree is not just a piece of paper but a key to bring about a change.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar presided over the event.  He awarded meritorious students of the institution.

Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife Sudesh Dhankhar planted saplings in the premises of Sri Mata Vaishno Devi University in memory of their late mothers Kesari Devi and Bhagwati Devi.

Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha was also present on the occasion.
