KRAFTON India CEO Sean Hyunil Sohn remained positive about the potential of the Indian gaming space, thinking it is going to become much bigger and stronger.
Addressing the India Gaming Show 2025 in New Delhi, Sohn observed that India ranks among the world's top five KRAFTON markets both by revenue and number of users, referring to the "phenomenal" development of the Indian business of the company over the last four years.
While this growth has taken place, Sohn agreed that India's gaming market, now between $1 billion and $2 billion, still lags behind established markets such as China, the U.S., and South Korea.
He reiterated that the period of the next three to five years will be critical for India to emerge as one of the key players in the world's gaming market.
Sohn also spelt out his plans for over $200 million investment in India, where he would be picking up local companies to enhance KRAFTON's presence and capability.
He answered the need of integrating artificial intelligence into game development, with the company already deploying AI-based technology in its products.
Devoted to developing more research and development in India, KRAFTON will be publishing games not only for the Indian consumer but South Asia and MENA region, reiterating its purpose of reaping India's increasing thirst for digital entertainment.
