The conflict between Iran and Israel intensified further on Thursday as Iran launched multiple missile strikes toward Israeli territory, marking the sixth consecutive day of hostilities in the escalating Middle East war.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, several rounds of Iranian missiles were fired early in the morning, triggering air-raid sirens across various parts of Israel. Residents in cities including Jerusalem rushed to shelters as explosions were heard shortly after the alerts were issued.
Witnesses reported seeing missile interceptions in the sky as Israel’s air-defence systems attempted to neutralise the incoming projectiles. Emergency services said there were no immediate reports of casualties following the latest barrage, though the attacks heightened fears of further escalation in the region.
The missile strikes came after Israel continued its military operations targeting Iranian-backed groups and strategic locations in the region. Israeli forces reportedly carried out fresh strikes in Lebanon, focusing on positions linked to the militant group Hezbollah in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Officials say the conflict dramatically escalated after a series of military actions involving the United States and Israel against Iranian targets, which Tehran has vowed to retaliate against. Iran’s paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that continued attacks on its territory could lead to broader strikes on military and economic infrastructure across the region.
The ongoing conflict has already resulted in heavy casualties and widespread destruction across several countries in the Middle East. Reports suggest that more than a thousand people have died in Iran, dozens in Lebanon and several in Israel since the hostilities began.
Military analysts warn that the sustained exchange of missile strikes and air attacks could further destabilise the region if diplomatic efforts fail to contain the crisis. With global powers closely monitoring the situation, concerns are growing that the confrontation could widen into a broader regional war.
As the conflict enters its sixth day, both Iran and Israel appear determined to continue their military campaigns, raising fears that the already volatile Middle East may face an even more dangerous phase in the coming days.
