Israel’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Oren Marmorstein, on Sunday said that Tehran’s missile and military actions are not confined to Israel but have struck multiple countries across the Middle East, underscoring the widening impact of the regional conflict triggered by recent U.S.–Israel strikes on Iran. He told reporters that “the Iranian regime is attacking the entire region, eight countries… not only Israel,” referring to ballistic missile launches by Iran that have reportedly affected several neighbouring states.
Addressing a press conference in Tel Aviv, Marmorstein emphasised that Iran’s military operations have targeted nations beyond Israel’s borders, including Arab countries hit by Iranian missiles as part of its retaliation. He stressed that Israel does not have a conflict with the Iranian people but rather with the leadership in Tehran which, in his view, poses a threat to regional stability.
The Israeli official framed the ongoing U.S.–Israel operation backed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as necessary to counter what Jerusalem describes as an “existential threat” from Iran’s regime, stating that the campaign aims to alter the strategic environment and reduce the danger posed by Tehran’s influence and capabilities.
His remarks come amid intense chaos in West Asia, with explosions and missile strikes reported across multiple countries, disruptions to air travel, and fears of broader escalation beyond the original conflict zone around Israel and Iran.
The stress on a regional scope of Iranian actions reflects Israel’s attempt to justify its military response and underscore the seriousness of the threat, even as international calls grow for de‑escalation and diplomatic efforts to prevent wider war.
