Ranchi, (Mar 23)- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said on Sunday that the Naxals feel defeated because the security forces are becoming more efficient in their operations against them in the state.

Soren and Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar offered their respects by laying flowers on the body of a CRPF jawan who died in an IED blast in West Singhbhum district yesterday.

A wreath-laying ceremony was held to pay tribute to the martyr at the headquarters of CRPF's 133 battalion in Ranchi.

Addressing the media, Soren reiterated, "The sacrifice of the soldier will not be forgotten. The Naxals are frustrated because our actions against them are gaining strength. and we will continue."

Two security personnel were injured when an IED exploded during an anti-Naxal operation on Saturday. Sub-inspector Sunil Kumar Mandal of the CRPF's 193 battalion and another jawan, Partha Pratim Dey, were injured in the IED explosion close to the Vangram Marangponga forest in the Chotanagra police station jurisdiction of West Singhbhum district, said police reports.

They were flown to Ranchi for medical care. Unfortunately, SI Mandal later passed away from his injuries while being treated at a private hospital in the state capital.
