Lebanon braces for Israeli retaliation! Lebanese Prime Minister fears new war.

Tensions in West Asia have risen again. Amid fierce fighting between Hamas and the Israeli army in Gaza, fears of a new war have arisen in Lebanon. On Saturday, rocket attacks were launched from Lebanon into Israel. The Israeli army said that it had intercepted three rockets fired from Lebanon into the northern Israeli border. Not only that, but Israel has retaliated by shelling and airstrikes in Lebanon after intercepting several rockets fired from Lebanon.

Many fear that this counterattack could spell the end of the ceasefire between Tel Aviv and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah that was signed a few months ago. Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has expressed concern that his country is on the brink of a new conflict after Israel's retaliatory attacks. He issued the warning in response to Israel's threat to retaliate for rocket attacks from Lebanese territory.

The Israeli army has been carrying out air strikes and ground operations in Gaza since Tuesday, violating a ceasefire. More than 600 Palestinians, including more than 200 children, have been killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza. Yemen's Houthi rebels have responded by launching multiple missile attacks on Israel.

In a televised address early Saturday, the Iran-backed Houthi group's spokesman, Yahya Sari, said it had fired a ballistic missile at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. The Israeli military said it had shot down a missile from Yemen on Friday night. It was reported that the missile was destroyed before it could hit Israeli territory. After this, the Israeli military shelled the outskirts of the town of Yahmor in southern Lebanon.

On October 7, 2023, the war around Gaza began due to an attack by the Palestinian armed group Hamas on Israel. After that, Hezbollah also became involved in the war with Tel Aviv. Later, Israel killed several top Hezbollah leaders and numerous fighters, as well as carrying out a major attack on their weapons depot. After that, this armed group, which is close to Iran, suffered a slight setback. A ceasefire agreement was reached between the two sides in November last year, mediated by the United States. The ceasefire agreement agreed that Hezbollah would not have any weapons in southern Lebanon, Israel would withdraw troops from there, and Lebanese government forces would be deployed in the area. Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam fears that the possibility of a new war has arisen as attacks on both sides of the border have resumed. However, after Israel's counterattack, the Lebanese Prime Minister said that his country is ready to deal with the new situation.
