Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha today underlined the importance of enhancing cultural interaction between different states and union territories.

He mentioned that such cross-cultural programs can make the country stronger by encouraging mutual respect, removing misunderstandings, and promoting unity in society. LG Sinha pointed out that when people from various parts of India come together to share their customs, cuisines, and art, it helps reduce differences and bring communities closer.

He was speaking at the “Himachal Diwas” celebration hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir Raj Bhawan in Jammu.

“Cultural exchange under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative can also bring economic advantages. Local events can attract tourists, and partnerships between states can lead to grand festivals, boosting community spirit and local businesses,” the LG added. He also extended his greetings and warm wishes to the people of Himachal Pradesh on the occasion.

Calling Himachal Pradesh “Devbhoomi,” he praised its natural beauty, spiritual richness, and cultural vibrancy. He noted that the state has become a key center for hydropower, which is playing a major role in supporting its economy. “I hope the dreams of its people come true and that Himachal continues contributing to the country's progress,” he said.

The LG paid tribute to General Zorawar Singh, a legendary warrior and military leader. He also acknowledged the bravery of soldiers and other notable personalities from Himachal. During the event, he unveiled an Activity Calendar of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Members of the security forces, students, and residents of Himachal living in J&K were specially invited to attend the event.
