A shocking case of intimidation and sexual assault has emerged from Mumbai, where a 51-year-old businesswoman has accused a senior pharma executive of stripping her at gunpoint and recording her nude videos. The complaint names Joy John Pascal Post, Managing Director and founder member of Franco-Indian Pharmaceuticals (FIPPL), as the prime accused.
According to the FIR, the woman was invited to the company’s office under the pretext of a routine meeting. Once inside, she was allegedly abused, threatened, and forced to remove her clothes at gunpoint. She told police that Post filmed and photographed her in the nude and warned her that the visuals would be leaked if she spoke out.
The survivor has also identified five others who were allegedly present or involved. Mumbai Police have registered a case on charges including sexual harassment, assault, and criminal intimidation. Her detailed statement has been recorded, and investigators are now verifying the role of each accused.
This incident comes days after another disturbing case in Kolkata, where a woman waiting for a cab was dragged into a car by three men one of whom she knew forced to drink alcohol reportedly mixed with drugs, and sexually assaulted. She was later abandoned near the Maidan area and rescued by locals before being taken to SSKM Hospital.
The Mumbai case has sparked concern among women entrepreneurs and professionals, highlighting once again the vulnerability many face even in corporate environments. Police say the investigation is being treated with urgency, and further action will follow after forensic and digital evidence is examined.
The incidents in both Mumbai and Kolkata have reignited discussions on women’s safety, workplace misconduct, and the growing need for faster legal and institutional responses to sexual violence across Indian cities.
