Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has confirmed that coordination is underway to set a new date for his planned visit to India, following reports that the trip had been postponed. Officials in New Delhi clarified that the visit had not been officially announced and that discussions on scheduling are still in progress.
Israel emphasised the strong and steady nature of its partnership with India, noting that the trust between the two governments continues to shape bilateral cooperation. The Israeli leadership also signalled complete confidence in India’s security environment as both sides work to identify a suitable timeframe for the visit.
Netanyahu last travelled to India in 2018, a significant moment in the evolving relationship between the two nations. His trip came shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic 2017 visit to Israel, which elevated strategic engagement across defence, agriculture, water technology, and innovation.
Amid renewed attention on the pending visit, Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal’s recent visit to Israel helped advance ongoing discussions. During his meeting with Netanyahu in Jerusalem, Goyal reviewed the progress of bilateral trade initiatives and highlighted outcomes from his talks with Israeli Minister Nir Barkat. He also detailed the achievements of the Business Forum and CEOs Forum, which aim to enhance collaboration between industries in both countries.
India and Israel continue to explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in innovation-driven sectors and long-term connectivity projects. A proposed economic corridor linking India, Israel, and Europe remains a focal point for future joint efforts.
With technical teams already coordinating, an official announcement of the revised visit schedule is expected once consultations are completed.
