Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has made it clear that the Maharashtra government will not take any role in the investigation of the case related to Sajjad Rana and where he will be taken for interrogation. According to him, the investigation of this case is now in the hands of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and they will take all the decisions regarding the next stage of the investigation.

Fadnavis said, "NIA is an autonomous central agency. They are investigating according to the law and in their own way. The decision on where Rana will be taken for interrogation will be taken according to the needs of the investigation, which is completely within their jurisdiction."

In this context, he further added, "The Maharashtra government or the state police will not interfere in the NIA's investigation at this time. This is a sensitive matter and is related to national security, so we want the agency to work independently."

The allegations against Sajjad Rana, who is known as a former officer of the Mumbai Police, have already created a stir in various quarters. Various questions have been raised about his activities and several new aspects have emerged in the investigation, sources said.

The NIA is investigating the allegations against Rana very seriously. The foreign links and possible threats to the internal security of the country have also been brought under investigation in this case. Fadnavis said that where and how Rana will be interrogated will be as per the plan decided by the NIA.

In his words, it is clear that there should be no political interference in the work of law enforcement agencies and the government is moving on that path. Fadnavis's comments make it clear that the Maharashtra government is not taking any political stand in this sensitive case but is giving full freedom to the central agency to investigate.

The future course of this case and how important the role of Sajjad Rana was, now depends entirely on the NIA investigation.
