Indian actress Sonal Chauhan has revealed that she is currently stuck in Dubai as travel chaos intensifies due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. With flights cancelled and airspace restrictions in place, Chauhan said there was “no clear way to return to India” and appealed directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help.
In an Instagram post, the Jannat actor wrote to the Prime Minister, saying she was stranded amid the ongoing crisis and requesting government guidance and support for a safe journey home. She also tagged the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian consulate in Dubai in her message.
The appeal highlights the strain faced by many travellers after widespread flight disruptions triggered by heightened tensions following strikes by the United States and Israel on targets in Iran. These military exchanges have led to temporary closures of key Middle Eastern air routes, forcing airlines to cancel or reroute services and leaving passengers at major transit hubs uncertain about when normal operations will resume.
Chauhan is among several Indian citizens affected by the situation. Videos shared online show crowded terminals at Dubai International Airport with passengers waiting for official updates. Carriers such as Air India and IndiGo have said they are monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with aviation authorities, but have not announced immediate plans for resumed flights.
The Indian Embassy in the UAE has been in contact with local authorities and airlines to assist stranded nationals, urging travellers to stay updated through official channels until safe flight corridors are restored.
Chauhan’s appeal underscores the wider challenges faced by civilians trying to travel home amid geopolitical turmoil and the mounting uncertainty confronting international air travel in the region.
