Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma conducted a comprehensive review of the security framework and operational preparedness of forces deployed across the Kashmir Valley, the Army said on Saturday.
According to an official statement, the Army Commander assessed the overall readiness of formations operating in both North and South Kashmir. He was briefed in detail on the integrated intelligence grid, updated operational protocols, and strengthened joint response mechanisms that are considered critical in maintaining stability in the region’s complex security environment.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma also inspected a key strategic logistics echelon to evaluate its preparedness and efficiency. The Army highlighted that a robust and resilient logistics chain remains essential for sustaining combat capability and ensuring swift operational responses when required.
Officials said the commander reviewed measures taken to enhance coordination among various security agencies and examined steps implemented to counter evolving security challenges. The focus remained on maintaining high levels of alertness and adapting to emerging threats through improved technology and streamlined communication systems.
Interacting with troops on the ground, Lt Gen Sharma lauded their professionalism, determination and commitment to operational excellence. He appreciated the dedication displayed by personnel in safeguarding the region under challenging conditions.
“The Army Commander’s interaction with the troops reinforced the message that a secure and resilient logistics network forms the backbone of decisive combat capability,” the statement said.
He also commended the unit for maintaining a technically sound and well-equipped establishment capable of meeting the demands of future warfare.
The review underscores the Army’s continued emphasis on preparedness, coordination and operational efficiency to ensure peace and stability in Kashmir.
