A shocking incident aboard a Namo Bharat train in Uttar Pradesh has led to an FIR against three individuals after an obscene video surfaced on social media. The footage, captured on November 24, allegedly showed a man and a woman engaging in inappropriate acts inside a premium coach while nearby seats remained empty.
According to police, both individuals are students from an institute in Duhai along the Delhi-Meerut Road. The video reportedly came to light when train operator Rishabh Kumar allegedly recorded the clip on his mobile phone from the coach’s CCTV footage and uploaded it online, drawing widespread attention.
The Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) authorities acted swiftly after the video went viral. Chief Security Officer Dushyant Kumar filed a complaint against Kumar at the Muradnagar police station, accusing him of tarnishing the reputation of the Namo Bharat service. Following this, the train operator has been suspended pending investigation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rural), Surendra Nath Tiwari, confirmed that the FIR names all three individuals involved, including the two students, and legal proceedings will be initiated against them. Authorities are also reviewing the CCTV footage to ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents in the future.
This incident has sparked a debate about privacy and responsibility on public transport, highlighting the challenges of managing conduct in high-security transit systems. Rail authorities have emphasized that passengers are expected to maintain decorum and warned against misuse of surveillance footage for personal gain or social media attention.
The RRTS administration has assured strict action and called for greater awareness among students and young passengers about proper behavior in public spaces. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to be released by police soon.
