The box office run of O’Romeo witnessed a noticeable slowdown on its first Monday, earning ₹4.75 crore nett in India on Day 4. Despite the weekday dip, the romantic action drama starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri has managed to collect a total of ₹34.9 crore nett within its first four days of release.
The film had opened strongly at the box office, collecting ₹8.5 crore on its first day. It saw significant growth on Day 2 with ₹12.65 crore, followed by a steady ₹9 crore on Sunday. However, as expected, collections dropped on Monday due to weekday trends, though the overall performance remains stable.
According to trade reports, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 11.67% on Monday. Morning shows started slow with 7.85% occupancy, while afternoon and evening shows showed slight improvement. Night shows performed the best, reaching 15.54% occupancy, indicating continued audience interest despite the weekday decline.
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film has an emotional backstory. The project was originally planned with late actor Irrfan Khan and was earlier titled “Sapna Didi.” However, after his passing in 2020, the film was later revived and developed in a new form with Shahid Kapoor in the lead role.
The film also features a strong supporting cast, including Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Disha Patani in important roles.
Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and VB Films, O’Romeo continues to attract audiences despite the weekday drop. Trade analysts believe the film’s long-term performance will depend on weekday stability and upcoming weekend growth, which will determine whether it can emerge as a major box office success.
