Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu have extended their heartfelt Diwali greetings to the people of India on 20th October 2025. Diwali, known as the ‘Festival of Lights,’ is not just a religious celebration but a symbol of light, knowledge, and goodness triumphing over darkness, ignorance, and evil. It brings happiness, peace, and prosperity into everyone’s lives, as people illuminate their homes, share joy with family and friends, and reflect on moral and social values.

President Droupadi Murmu said, “On this auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my sincere greetings to all Indians in India and around the world. Diwali spreads the message of love, brotherhood, and harmony. Devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity, bringing happiness and abundance into their lives.” She added, “This joyful festival provides an opportunity for self-improvement and self-realization. It reminds us to help those in need and spread happiness in their lives.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “On this sacred occasion of Diwali, I wish everyone happiness and prosperity. May this festival of lights inspire hope and positivity in our lives. Through this celebration, we can promote unity, innovation, and creativity across the country.” He also emphasized supporting indigenous products and the spirit of ‘Swadeshi’ to strengthen both the economy and national pride.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister J.P. Nadda, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and other leaders extended their greetings, highlighting unity, social harmony, and collective prosperity.

Diwali is more than a festival of lights; it is a symbol of joy, moral values, social cohesion, and overall progress. The greetings from the Prime Minister and President reinforce the significance of spreading light, compassion, and positivity in every Indian’s life.
