New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a tragic mishap that occurred in Phalodi district of Rajasthan on Sunday. Extending his condolences to the bereaved families, the Prime Minister also wished a swift recovery for those injured in the incident.
In a message shared by the Prime Minister’s Office on X, Mr Modi said, “Saddened by the loss of lives due to a mishap in Phalodi district, Rajasthan. My thoughts are with the affected people and their families during this difficult time. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
The Prime Minister further announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). An ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each person who lost their life, while Rs 50,000 will be given to those injured.
Authorities in Rajasthan have been carrying out relief and rescue operations following the mishap. Local officials have been directed to ensure immediate medical care and support for the injured.
The Prime Minister’s message reflected his concern for the victims and their families, assuring that the central government stands with them in this time of distress. The announcement of compensation aims to provide some financial relief to the affected households as they cope with the aftermath of the tragedy.
