New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Seva Teerth complex in New Delhi, a state-of-the-art building housing the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat. The inauguration coincided with the 95th anniversary of New Delhi being formally inaugurated as India’s capital in 1931, adding historic significance to the occasion.
The new Seva Teerth and adjoining Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2 have been designed with modern governance in mind, featuring digitally integrated offices, structured public interface zones, centralized reception areas, and advanced safety and security measures. Built in accordance with 4-Star GRIHA standards, the buildings incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation initiatives, waste management solutions, and high-performance building envelopes, reflecting India’s push for sustainable and efficient infrastructure. The complex also bears the motto ‘Nagriko Devo Bhava’, symbolizing citizen-centric governance.
On his first day in the new office, PM Modi took immediate steps to benefit women, youth, and vulnerable citizens. He approved the PM RAHAT Scheme, providing cashless treatment of up to ₹1.5 lakh for accident victims, ensuring timely medical care. The government also expanded the Lakhpati Didis self-help program for women, reaching 3 crore beneficiaries ahead of schedule, and set an ambitious target of 6 crore by March 2029.
Further, to strengthen the agriculture sector, PM Modi approved doubling the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund from ₹1 lakh crore to ₹2 lakh crore. To boost innovation, especially in deep tech and advanced manufacturing, the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 was launched with a corpus of ₹10,000 crore.
Officials described these measures as a step toward building a modern, efficient, and citizen-focused governance ecosystem. With these initiatives, the government aims to improve operational efficiency, promote social welfare, and foster innovation while maintaining security and sustainability in India’s administrative framework.
