Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to the eminent Hindi poet Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar at Dinkar Golambar in Patna on Sunday. The occasion was marked by reverence and respect for the poet who is regarded as one of the greatest voices of Indian nationalism and Hindi literature.
The Prime Minister offered floral tributes at the statue of Dinkar and recalled his literary contributions which continue to inspire Indians across generations. Speaking about the poet’s influence, Mr Modi described him as the “pride of Bihar” whose compositions awakened a sense of courage and service to the nation.
Sharing his message on X, the Prime Minister wrote in Hindi, “बिहार की धरती के गौरव राष्ट्रकवि रामधारी सिंह दिनकर जी की ओजस्वी रचनाओं ने देशवासियों को मां भारती की सेवा के लिए सदैव प्रेरित किया है। आज पटना में दिनकर गोलंबर पर उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ।”

Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, born in 1908 in Simaria village of Bihar, rose to prominence as a poet of patriotism, strength and social awakening. His celebrated works such as Rashmirathi and Kurukshetra reflect his profound understanding of Indian philosophy and his commitment to justice and equality. He was conferred with the Jnanpith Award in 1972 and remains revered as a national poet whose verses continue to resonate with the spirit of India.
The Prime Minister’s tribute in Patna highlighted the government’s recognition of India’s literary and cultural icons. The event drew admiration from citizens who regard Dinkar as a timeless symbol of national pride and intellectual power. Mr Modi’s gesture served as a reminder of the poet’s enduring message of unity, patriotism and devotion to the motherland.
