The Delhi Police has issued two summons to the chairman of Al Falah University as part of investigations into the Faridabad terror module case and two separate cases concerning alleged forgery and cheating by the institution. An official said on Monday that the chairman, Javed Ahmad Siddiqui, has been asked to appear before investigators to clarify several points that have emerged during the inquiries.
According to the police, Siddiqui’s statement has become essential for resolving inconsistencies related to the functioning of the university and the activities of individuals linked to it. Investigators believe that his testimony may help determine the extent of the suspected irregularities and the connections under scrutiny in the wider probe. The Crime Branch has already registered two FIRs against the Haryana based university. The move followed serious concerns raised by the University Grants Commission and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council on Saturday. Officials stated that the concerns involved discrepancies in documentation and accreditation related matters, which warranted a detailed examination.
The summons issued to Siddiqui cover both the terror module investigation and the forgery and cheating cases. Police officials said the decision to call him for questioning was taken after reviewing documents, statements and other material collected during the inquiry so far. Investigators are expected to question Siddiqui on procedural issues within the university and on the roles of several individuals associated with the institution. Officers indicated that further action will depend on his response to the summons and the clarity he provides during questioning.
The developments have drawn attention to the growing scale of the probe, as authorities attempt to determine whether administrative lapses or deliberate wrongdoing occurred. Police officials said the investigation will continue in a structured manner, with additional summons likely if more discrepancies come to light. The university has not issued any formal statement on the summons yet.
