President Droupadi Murmu offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala on Friday during her visit to Tirupati. She arrived at the hill shrine in the morning and was received by temple priests, who accompanied her during the rituals.
The President first offered prayers at the Dhwajasthambham, the flagstaff situated inside the temple complex, before proceeding for darshan of the deity. Officials and temple authorities were present during the visit, which followed established protocol for dignitaries.
Her visit to the famed temple came a day after she prayed at the Sri Padmavathi temple in Tiruchanur on Thursday evening. Both temples draw a large number of devotees throughout the year and are considered among the most significant religious sites in the region.
The President’s two day spiritual itinerary in Tirupati district concluded after the morning rituals at Tirumala. The visits proceeded smoothly, and no formal statement was issued by the President’s office regarding the prayers.
