JAMMU : As IndiGo flights continue to face widespread disruptions, Northern Railways has stepped in to assist stranded travellers by adding an extra coach to the Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani Express. The new arrangement will be in effect for the next seven days, starting tonight.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal confirmed that a third AC coach, with 72 additional seats, has been added to the popular Rajdhani service to accommodate passengers left stranded due to the ongoing flight cancellations.
“This decision is aimed at providing comfort and facilitating those affected by the flight disruptions,” Singhal said. “We hope this will ease the burden on passengers who are seeking alternate travel options.”
The decision comes in response to the severe operational issues currently affecting the airline industry, particularly IndiGo, which has faced multiple flight cancellations and delays in recent days.
With the festive season around the corner, the added coach is expected to provide much-needed relief to passengers travelling between Jammu and New Delhi. Indian Railways is continuing to monitor the situation closely, ensuring that services are adjusted as needed to meet passenger demand.
