The controversy began after an Instagram user, identifying himself as a board-certified plastic and cosmetic surgeon, shared a video comparing Rakul’s older photos with her recent appearances and alleged that she had undergone Botox, fillers and a nose job.
The video quickly gained attention on social media, with the user accusing the actor of not being transparent about her so-called “real transformation” and instead attributing her changed appearance to fitness. According to him, this could create unrealistic expectations among the public.
Rakul, however, did not stay silent. Re-sharing the video on her Instagram Stories, the actor issued a clear warning to her followers. Calling it a “fraud alert,” she wrote that it was scary how people claiming to be doctors make statements without factual checks and mislead others. She accused the individual of spreading confusion and misinformation rather than verified medical facts.
Addressing the allegations head-on, Rakul clarified that she has no issue with people opting for cosmetic procedures if they choose to, but firmly denied having undergone any herself. She explained that changes in her appearance are the result of natural weight loss achieved through discipline, fitness and consistent hard work.
In her statement, the actor wrote that weight loss is a real and scientific process that comes from effort, lifestyle choices and understanding both ancient and modern science. She urged people to be cautious about believing such claims made online without proper verification.
