Security has been significantly bolstered in many states such as Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal prior to Ram Navami festivities on April 6, 2025. There would be more than 13,500 policemen deployed across Mumbai with 11,000 constabulary staff and 51 assistant commissioners of police to monitor law and order during processions. Drones and CCTV cameras would be utilized to monitor sensitive areas such as Malvani and Malad to prevent untoward incidents.
Security in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, one of the key places for Ram Navami celebrations, is in high gear with paramilitary forces, PAC, and civil police deployed. Traffic regulation systems, drones, and CCTV cameras are deployed to make celebrations hassle-free.
In West Bengal, 29 top IPS officials have been deployed in sensitive areas, and around 5,000 policemen have been deployed in Kolkata city alone to manage processions.
These new security measures follow recent communal unrest and are meant to prevent unrest during the celebrations. Peace committee forums have been held across the country to induct religious and political leaders to guarantee peace.
Deployment of drones, body cameras, and surveillance systems is an indication of determination to celebrate peacefully throughout the country.
